Oxygen Concentrators for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen concentrators are essential for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as they provide a constant flow of concentrated oxygen to the user. Using an oxygen concentrator with a soft sided hyperbaric chamber increases the oxygen breathed from 21% at sea level up to 96%. Moreover, the use of an oxygen concentrator with HBOT can effectively increase the amount of oxygen planted into the blood plasma by over four times.
That is, one hour of hyperbaric therapy with the concentrator equals 4 hours without.
When choosing an oxygen concentrator for HBOT, there are two main factors to consider: flow and back pressure.
- The minimum flow of any oxygen concentrator must be 10 liters to bypass the 4psi pressure of the chamber.
- Back pressure must also be above the chamber pressure to have the power to bring concentrated air in.
DeVilbiss oxygen concentrators are great for HBOT as they offer a powerful 20psi pressure, which provides enough powered up pressure for smooth sailing air flow to the body. This higher pressure also outputs less noise environment, as it doesn’t have to strain in the process of bypassing the chamber’s pressure.

Additional Add-Ons for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (Chamber Dependent)
Depending on what chamber you buy, you might also want to add an interior pressure gauge to monitor your ATA pressure during your session. Alternatively, you could add a mattress pad.
Additional HBOT Treatment Protocols
Finally, you might want to increase the health impact of your treatments by combining it with PEMF therapy and/or Red Light Therapy prior to your HBOT Session
